    Great video, but you're going to run into problems with old machines. My machine is 9 years old, I needed an impact driver to get the wash plate screw out, and ended up have to cut/chip out the wash plate, as after 9 years of heavy use, the metal connection between the gear case and the wash plate had corroded together. (I cracked the wash plate plastic from pulling up on it with metal hooks.) But new wash plate and new gearbox have gotten it back up and running and it is super quiet once again.

    Update after spending $200 to get the new gasket and having a GE trained tech install it the gasket popped out and I had to hammer it back in barely. GE is a terrble product. The handles broke off a couple of years ago and now the gasket needed to be replaced and the GE tech struggled for over 2 hrs till he almost passed out trying to put it in. The repair shop laughed thinking it was going to be a simple job but then they found out what kind of mess it is.

    I would have clarified that the orientation of the gasket is important. Make sure you check how the gasket is installed and also check the installation instructions on the new gasket. The original gasket at 0:50 looks to be flush with the "outside" of the groove of the tub and it tapers towards the inside of the tub. The new gasket at 1:57 looks flush to the "inside" edge of the groove on the tub and then it tapers towards the outside of the tub. It may be an optical illusion but that's how it looks to me. I installed the gasket the way I see it at 1:57 and my dishwasher leaked. I thought the leaks were because of a faulty door latch or door hinges (my 4 yr old likes to mess around with the dishwasher door). I removed the tub gasket and checked again to ensure it was not damaged or compressed. There is text written on one side of the gasket instructing to orient that side towards the inside of the tub (i.e. opposite to the outside perimeter). Problem solved, no more dishwasher leaks for now.

    RE: WTW4800BQO ISSUE: 1st fills with water 2nd slow rpm spin , no agitation . I hear a ratching sound ( unless i carefully apply Pressure downward on top of agitator. Hopefully not the gearcase.😮 Thanks in advance

    • @appliancepartspros

      That ratcheting sound could be the splutch. You will need to check those parts to make sure they are not damaged.

      @@appliancepartspros when i swapped actuators i put one green screw in wrong hole. Found this today checking behind my self. So lever wasnt engaging splutch . Fixed that. Ratcheting sounds gone. But still only agitates when applying pressure on top of agitator durning time its suppose to agitate. Does a slower back forth agitation with tub sort back n forth for about 10 with downward pressure applied to agitator. Ok i quitting on it for the night. I think these models and similar WTW5000DW1, WTW5000DW2, WTW400BQO ant nouthin but da devil. Lol Swapped gear case( splines rusted out), water valves( only hot worked) , swapped agitator( splines stripped), New belt( old one melted) was squating on the ground, ( i blocked itt up til i was sure rest was ok then ill replaced suspension) , swapped capacitor)( made no difference) swapped actuators ( no difference) new dog ears (old ones wore out) Part of the time no lights are on while running.

    The models that have the plastic piece and metal clip on top the spanner nut. If the plastic piece and metal clip is missing would it prevent agitation? RE:WTW4800BQ0 Im only getting a slow rpm spin after water fills up. Your diagram shows a different style cam kit. Ig i apply pressure to top of agitator it agitates properly.

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros 2 дні тому

      I checked the model you provided and I don't show the plastic and metal piece listed for that unit. It sounds like you need to check the agitator, splutch, and the agitator dogs visually for any damage.

      @@appliancepartspros WPGT9350COWW. After spending a lot of time on this, I think it's the inverter, and I've ordered a replacement. It's supposed to put out 12VDC to the rotor position sensor from 2 circuits, but I found 3V from one and 16V from another. So, even though the service diagnostic mode is not faulting the inverter, this voltage was way off, so I'm hoping that replacing the inverter fixes it. The motor looked OK, and the resistance at its terminals were within spec. The rotor sensor didn't look abnormal, but since it wasn't getting specified voltage, I can't say whether it's functioning correctly. Any comments? Thanks

    JUST PERFECT!! I had two problems - somehow a connector disconnected (and disappeared) from my drinking water line...causing water to leak on the floor every time I used the water dispenser on the front of the fridge. When I got it open in back....THIS entire drain tube here was cracked and in pieces...that's a smaller leak...but still a leak. Your video, unlike SO many others online, was clear, concise, and simply produced. Step-by-step instructions allowed me change it (AND the other) in about ten minutes...I'm 6'6"/245...lying on the floor is NOT easy!!! Thanks again! Make sure the temperature is between 0 and 5 degrees for the unit to make ice properly. It can take up to 24 hrs after install for the unit to get back down to the proper temperatures to make ice properly. If it's the housing the ice maker sits in that you are asking about, that is part of the door.

    Excellent video. I can echo all previous comments on how instructive this is. Saved me a lot of money. I’m now going to check my toolbox to make sure I haven’t left any tools in the dryer like our fellow reviewer. 😂
